The Board of Directors of Family Service Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Dianne Bascombe as its President & CEO effective April 17, 2006. Ms. Bascombe succeeds Margaret (Maggie) Fietz who is retiring after leading the organization for the past 11 years.
Ms. Bascombe has extensive experience with the voluntary sector over the past 25 years, most recently as Executive Director of the National Children’s Alliance. She previously served as Executive Director of the Centre for Voluntary Sector Research and Development – Carleton University and University of Ottawa (1999-2001) and from 1991-1999 was the Executive Director of the Canadian Child Care Federation. Dianne holds a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Queen’s University, Kingston ON and a MA in Public Administration from Carleton University, Ottawa ON.
Ms. Bascombe is well-known and well-respected among national voluntary sector organizations and has contributed greatly to advancing child and family well-being in Canada.
The Board and staff of Family Service Canada look forward to working with Dianne and are confident that the organization will continue to thrive through her leadership.
