EARLY INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AND ABUSE IN FAMILIES
Home > Programs & Projects >

A PROJECT OF FAMILY SERVICE CANADA AND CLARICA

Family Service Canada and Clarica Life Insurance supported twelve wide-ranging early intervention projects across Canada from 2001 to 2003. Each project responded to a community need identified by the agencies. Ten of the projects are on-going.

The agencies benefitted from the projects in many ways. They developed innovative techniques for recruiting people who are at-risk. They created strength-based admission procedures that provided them with more complete information about their clients. They experienced the advantage of intervening early in a client’s situation. Their strength-based workshops increased client participation. In addition, their new partnerships raised the agencies’ profile and increased their knowledge of community resources.
