Each year since 1985, National Family Week has given family members, organizations and agencies from coast to coast an opportunity to celebrate the important role families play in our society.

During National Family Week, the week before Thanksgiving in October, thousands of community organizations, corporations, unions and individuals from across Canada develop creative ways to raise the awareness of families' needs, issues and values. National Family Week events celebrate family diversity and family achievements, and ultimately encourage the development of a more "family friendly" society.

Family Service Canada produces media messages which address important family issues and develop awareness about the availability of services which strengthen and support families. Partnerships with business, labour and government make this possible.

Published and distributed several times a year to a wide readership, Let's Talk Families develops awareness of family issues, new services and resources.
